Let it Flow

Have you ever been stuck in your own creative process because of societal expectations and fears? This year has been filled with many ups and downs. For most creatives and entrepreneurs, 2020 has been a time of rebranding and laser focus. For individuals who express themselves through art and creativity, this is the season to allow your creativity to flow.
Cultivating a vibe or idea that has been confined to your own mind and heart into a physical form can be difficult. This is the beauty of creativity. It does not have to be perfect. Your creation is specific to your vision. No one else can create the way that you do. It may not look like what someone else has created, but it can still make an impact. Give yourself the freedom to create from a place of authenticity, vulnerability, and originality.
Sometimes your creativity can help you understand and release the emotions associated with a situation or problem. Allow your creativity to open up the door for forgiveness and healing. You may never know how something has affected you until that thing is represented through art. The art (writing, drawing, singing, etc.) that we create may influence others to explore their own creativity.
During your creative process, make note of the negative and positive things that come to mind. This will help you to keep track of your thought process. Also be aware that creativity can be messy and unconventional. Don’t let the fear of getting it wrong keep you from starting. It may take several days, months, or years to create something that is important to you. Placing a time limit on art is like placing a limit on your capacity to love.
There is space for the art that you make. Someone in the world needs your poem, movie, or painting. It may not seem like it now, but everything has a purpose. Let the pressure go and your creativity flow.
